謂腹式呼吸法是指吸氣時讓腹部凸起,
吐氣時壓縮腹部使之凹入的呼吸法。
正確的腹式呼吸法為:開始吸氣時全身用力,
此時肺部及腹部會充滿空氣而鼓起,
但還不能停止,仍然要使盡力氣來持續吸氣,
不管有沒有吸進空氣,只管吸氣再吸氣。
然後屏住氣息4秒,此時身體會感到緊張,
接著利用8秒的時間緩緩的將氣吐出。吐氣時宜慢且長而且不要中斷。做完幾次前述方式後,不但不會覺得難過,反而會有一種舒暢的快感。實際上測定呼吸時的腦波,
可以知道在吸氣時屏住氣息的瞬間則大鳴大放,
而且在吐氣時α波也持續出現。
也就是說,屏住氣息可以使得α波更容易出現。
